Monday, December 6th, 2021 | 6-8:30pm (EST)-- Fully Online Workshop


What are some of the individual and social challenges that people and communities impacted by incarceration face? What do humanistic and transformative interventions look like in practice? And how can those in mental health professions, education, policy, and human services best address the personal and systemic contexts that contribute to high rates of incarceration? Through guided discussion, guest presentations, and a concluding exercise during the workshop, plus a supplemental resource list, participants will explore the role of and needs for educational and psychosocial interventions in the context of incarceration. Overall, the workshop focuses on introducing the knowledge and capacities necessary for imagining or implementing humanistic interventions.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation the participant will be able to:

  1. Apply an ecological systems framework to understand experiences of reentry
  2. Describe characteristics of humanistic prison and reentry interventions (including program structure or values)

Timeline and Requirements:

The course will take place on Monday, December 6th, 2021.  This workshop is presenter-led and is a fully online experience. This will be conducted synchronously online via Zoom from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm (EST). 

Fees & Policies:

Partial scholarships are available for students, educators, mental health professionals, and those who work with communities that are impacted by incarceration.

A limited number of full scholarships are available for those with financial need.

Payment is due by credit card at registration. Registration closes December 6th at 5pm. Refunds will be granted only up until registration closes at 5pm on December 6th. No refunds will be granted for registration or technical errors on the participant's part (such as incorrect name/email, login failure, etc.).
