Workshop Series Description:
This three-part workshop familiarizes participants with the theory and practice of non-violent communication— as an essential component of more restorative approaches to addressing harm and as a way of life. It offers a general introduction to the theory, history, and practice of non-violent communication through lecture, discussion, and opportunities to practice key skills. Workshop exercises and activities encourage participants to apply non-violent communication principles and strategies to their own personal life and professional practice.
SESSION 3: Applications of Non-Violent Communication as a Restorative Practice in Schools, Communities, and Institutions
This session applies concepts and practices from the first and second sessions to restorative justice practices in schools, communities, and institutions. The session will conclude with discussion of case studies of people and institutions who have applied Nonviolent Communication to their personal and professional contexts. Participation in one of the first two sessions OR some basic familiarity with practice of non-violent communication is strongly encouraged.
Timeline and Requirements:
The course will begin on Thursday, April 7, 2022. This workshop series is presenter-led and is a fully online experience. This will be conducted synchronously online via Zoom from 7:00 - 8:15 pm (EST).
Fees & Policies:
Payment is due by credit card at registration. Registration closes April 7th at 5pm. Refunds will be granted only up until registration closes at 5pm on April 7th. No refunds will be granted for registration or technical errors on the participant's part (such as incorrect name/email, login failure, etc.).
